Sketch: Sin against the Beast
Preliminary study for a series of illustrations about the Mesopotamian pantheon. Sin, the moon god, depicted as a white bull facing Humbaba, the guardian of the Cedar Forest.
The composition plays with the idea of reflection: both characters share features, as if the beast were the dark mirror of the god. The palette will be limited: white, black, and a single lapis lazuli accent.
